CQA members actively give back to the community through their quilting. We use our talents to warm hearts and lives through the gift of a quilt as described below. We also educate our neighbors on the history of quilting

Comfort Givers Community Quilts

Comfort Givers, one of the small groups within Camarillo Quilters Association, leads our extensive Community Quilts Project. They make numerous quilts themselves, accept and label quilts made by other members, and provide kits for members to complete.

During our June and December meetings, the finished quilts are distributed to the charities we support. In June of 2014, we provided 308 quilts. We are rewarded with a brief update on the work of the organizations and the role that the quilts have played in the lives of their clients.

Below is a list of the charities Community Quilts currently supports:

A New Start for Moms
Casa Pacifica
Safe Harbor
Ventura County Medical Center Infusion Center Pediatric Hematology and Oncology
Ventura County Medical Center Neonatal Unit
Ventura County Medical Center Pediatrics Intensive Care
RAIN Transitional Living Center
Lighthouse for Women and Children
Life Centers of Ventura County

These additional charities are provided quilts when they request:

Teen Challenge
Veterans Home
